Mako in its purest form
I remember that 2019 was the year I discovered the Mako_Vice account on the instagram platform, an art account in the purest superani style with dark, disturbing and moderately erotic touches, a very successful style with attachment and clear horizons I would define.
As time went by I continued to marvel at how his art evolved and continued to improve. It was already impossible to see a work by the artist without knowing that it was his. An aura so personal and intimate that it can only be defined as incomparable.
And this happens with Social Appetite, a concise 14-page manga that doesn't count but shows the dark atmosphere of Mako's metauniverse. A dark world in black and white where the individual humanity of each one is valid in the small acts of hatred and lack of compassion. Social Appetite is a tiny story of surrealism, terror and betrayal in the midst of a dark world full of desire and sadness, like a good opening chapter of what will be a great novel. Our first step towards what Mako has in mind.

I’ve been interested in seeing a one shot from MAKO ever since I began following them and they did not disappoint. The composition of the panels and story were great and as always I loved the artwork. I can’t wait to see more manga related work from MAKO.
